‘Cruel and depraved’: Ex-US soccer player Megan Rapinoe trashes Trump’s executive order to keep men out of women’s sports

Former professional female soccer player Megan Rapinoe has characterized President Donald Trump's executive order that men from women's sports are “cruel” and opposed to human rights.

Rapinoe is a longtime Trump critic and has focused on men who believe that they are women who believe that they are women, even when it comes to playing in women's sports.

Retirement did not stop Rapinow from using her popularity to talk about these subjects. Mundial.

It refers to Trump's Presidential Order The title, titled “Take Men away from women's sports,” said he didn't believe the intention behind Trump's actions was sincere.

“Don't say it's about women's sports rights,” she began. “It's totally dishonest to say that.”

“This is not a problem…”

The order declared that women are entitled to play in sports only against other biological women, and that they are not forced to compete with men, compete with men, or change in front of men.

Nevertheless, Rapinoe went on to argue that the idea that men are permeating women's sports is not an existing issue.

“I think it's really cruel,” she continued. “You know, when you get it all back, it's kind of cruel and de-dropped. This isn't the problem, you can't president people who don't exist.

The 39-year-old then cited what she called a decade-long period of fighting for rights before arguing that the issue of excluding women's sports was actually a matter of criticizing women's sports.

“We have gone through a very long period of time over a decade where we have to fight just to reach a baseline like equal rights and non-discriminatory behavior.

The response to Rapinoe was immediate, including commentators and host Piers Morgan. Daily Mail.

Meanwhile, Outkick founder Clay Travis laughed at Lapinoe for wanting “a man who grew up in women's sports” before declaring that “her brain is broken.”

Since his retirement, Rapinoe has been focusing on both transgenderism and Trump. In July 2024, she criticized American female soccer player Covin Albert for posting content critical of transgenderism on social media. Rapinoe accused Albert of hiding behind her faith, questioning the 20-year-old as “makes all kinds of spaces safer and more inclusive” or “more overall.”

Then, shortly after Trump's election in November, she said she wanted better than the “severe, dark, violent reality” of another term under President Trump.

Lapinoe's claim that gender fights in women's sports have not happened can unfortunately be disproved by example from the past 30 days. These examples include the California high school girls' basketball team, including the dominant male players on the roster and the transgender track and field runner who defeated a teenage girl at an event in New York.
