Democrat rep says party lost because it constantly scolds Americans: ‘You guys are just out of touch’

Massachusetts Democrat Seth Moulton belated His own party and other politicians agreed with him, but said they feared criticism from the party's left side.

Moulton made a comment while interviewing Pamela Brown on CNN.

“I think we need to stop preaching and start listening.

“We lost this election completely. This is an election we could have won. So in our history, have you ever run against a convicted felon sitting at the top of a ticket?

“We lost all over the place because a lot of Americans said, 'You're just not in contact. You're just not in contact,'” he added. “So, this other guy may be crazy, but you guys aren't in touch with the majority of Americans, and this is what you showed by losing this election, by definition.”

He went on to say the message from the Democrats was too negative.

“We became a party of people preaching to others. We became a party of people you know who say, 'If you don't agree with me, you're not only wrong, you're a bad person,'” continued Moulton. “I mean, I think we all have heard that attitude from a lot of National Democrats in the last few years, so I think we need to stop sermoning and start listening.

Moulton also said that while many of the party agreed with his criticism, they were afraid that they would make those feelings into the masses due to the periphery of the Democrats' left.

“I've heard from many of my colleagues behind the scenes, 'You're right, Seth, you're right,'” he added. “But they all say they whisper because they are so afraid that they will say it publicly so that they won't be hugged by the liberals left behind in our party.”

Others in the party accused former President Joe Biden of staying too long in the race and forcing him to set up Kamala Harris as a candidate without a proper primary.
