The homeless man left a mark of destruction within at least four Buddhist and Taoist temples at lower Manhattan on Tuesday, officers said.
Taihong Ouyang, 49, was slapped for criminal mischief and robbery charges against destructive vendors, including a stop at the Sung Tak Buddhist Association on Pike Street near East Broadway.
Authorities and sources say between Chinatown and the Lower East Side Sparee, Uyan has reportedly targeted the World Buddhist Centre on Henry Street near Rutgers Street.
He also targeted Pu Chao Buddhist temple on Eldridge Street near Canal Street, officers said.
Ouyan ended his fuss just after 8am. He rushed into the Funda Xian Taoist temple in Bowery near Per Street and damaged numerous items inside, officers said.
He called 911 to report vandalism and Ouyan was pursued and arrested, authorities said.
Ouyang has been accused of vandalism in two other places. One said it is on Canal Street near Bowery and the other on East Broadway near Market Street where two front doors were damaged.
It is unclear whether those buildings are also homes for worship.
It was also unclear when Ouyang began making noises with him or why he targeted the temple.
Ouyan's arrest was pending Wednesday at Manhattan Crown Court.
