Netflix bringing back popular “Quarterback” docuseries

Netflix's “quarterback” will return to streaming platforms this year, the company announced Wednesday.

The NFL documentary debuted in 2023, offering a behind-the-scenes look with three quarterbacks. Kansas City Chiefs star Patrick Mahomes found the cast for that season and also recorded a season of Kirk Cousins' injury with the Minnesota Vikings. The debut season followed an uneven run by Journeyman quarterback Marcus Mariota with the Atlanta Falcons.

My cousin is back in season 2. Newcomers Cincinnati Bengals star Joe Burrow and Detroit Lions' Signal Colour Jared Goff also allowed cameras to follow them on and off the field during the 2024-25 NFL season.

Netflix has released a teaser for Wednesday's season. “I'll be on Netflix this July,” the streaming service wrote to X.

Another NFL-centric documentary, “Receiver,” was released a year after “Quarterback.”

It followed several wide receivers and one famous NFL tight end in the 2023-24 season. Docusary saw the Davante Adams season with the Las Vegas Raiders internally. The series also followed Minnesota Vikings All Pro Justin Jefferson and Lions receiver Amon Racent Brown.

The San Francisco 49ers outstanding Devo Samuel season was also recorded, with George Kittle representing the show's tight end group. Peyton Manning's Omaha Productions, Mahomes's 2pm production, and NFL Films handled the productions of the series.

The Cousins ​​had a disrupted first season with the Falcons. He threw a career-high 16 interceptions before being benched in favor of rookie quarterback Michael Penix. Cousins ​​had finished a season in which he tore his right Achilles tendon in October 2023 when he lost to the Green Bay Packers.

Burrow was undoubtedly the best season of his NFL career in 2024 and was named AP Comeback Player of the Year.

He finished the season with a career-high 4,918 passing yards and 43 touchdowns. The Bengals finished with a 9-8 record and were unable to qualify for the playoffs.

Goff also finished with a 4,629-yard pass and finished his career with the most shyness.

The Lions entered the postseason as the NFC's top seed, but were eliminated from the competition when they were upset by Washington's manager in the split round.

The first season of Docuseries featured eight episodes. Netflix did not reveal the number of episodes for Season 2.
