Devil of these details.
The Kansas bishops claim that a group of Satanists stole sacred wafers and wine for use in the “black chunks” they hold at the Capitol, while the unclean hell riser claims that the body and blood of Christ simply came from the “Pope Amazon.”
Kansas City Catholic Archbishop Joseph Nauman sued Devil's Cave leaders Travis Roberts and Michael Stewart at Leavenworth District Court on Friday, accusing them of obtaining sacred hosts and wine using “theft, fraud, deception, unlawful seizing, or other forms of misappropriation.”
“The consecrated host and wine are in fact the body, blood, soul and divinity of Jesus Christ,” Naumann's submission reads, explaining that such sacred objects can only be entered into the hands of Satanists through demonic designs.
But the Lord of Darkness had nothing to do with it, according to Satanist Stewart. He spoke to Kansas City His sacred snacks starred in “At Pope Amazon” – meaning he bought them online.
Stewart also pushed aside the inflammatory nature of his group's March 28 Black Mass plan (which he described as a “catharticic expression of sadness, anger, healing, and healing.”
“You'll see books torn, cloths torn, crackers torn, wine to get drunk. That's the most frightening thing we've planned,” Stewart said.
But state lawmakers aren't that sure. Furious all the way to the state legislative floor on Thursday, debating whether the demonic ritual, originally planned inside the Capitol, will take place.
The plan was ultimately supported on the grounds of the First Amendment's right to free speech, but Gov. Laura Kelly ordered the ceremony to take place outside the Capitol, characterising the group's plans as “shaming” and “denial.”
“But as governor, I also have an obligation to protect the constitutional rights of protesters to their constitutional rights to free speech and freedom of expression.
Contrary to popular belief, Satanists consider atheists who value empowering individuals rather than worshiping the devil.
According to the official website of the Church of Satan, Satan acts as a symbolic figure of “liberty and individualism” and is not as a real being as characterised in the Bible.
Nevertheless, the Archbishop argued that the plan uses “demonstrates harm to Catholic Churches, Catholic Churches and countless Catholics across Kansas and around the world.”
Some local lawmakers think they are merely people who seek attention.
“The Satanists did this specifically to get your attention and it worked,” said Rep. Cyrus Miller (D-Wichita). Kansas Reflector reported. “And sadly, we're still missing the point.”
As for Stewart, he told the Kansas City star that he meant business and was ready to go to jail for that.
“I wear clean underwear and everything. We're all about this,” he said.
