Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Fray doubled resistance to President Donald Trump and border border Tom Homan's immigration enforcement efforts, vowing his city to be a “safe shelter” for illegal immigrants.
Speaking at city hall with other Democratic leaders, including “Squad” member Rep. Ilhan Omar, Frey said:
“No matter who you are or where you come from, Minneapolis is where you should be proud to call your home.” He continued.

Democrat Frey has previously vowed not to cooperate with President Donald Trump's immigration enforcement efforts, and he has become one of many other Blue City leaders across the country to take this stance.
In his previous speech, Frey assured illegals that in accordance with the city's “separation ordinance,” the Minneapolis police did not gather information about the status of people's immigrants and would not arrest anyone for being in the country illegally.

In response to Frey's latest comments, House Majority Whip Tom Emmer told Fox News Digital that “Mayor Frey should stop the illegal criminal alien standing guard and start protecting the people of his city.”

“Last year, Ice arrested an Al Shabaab terrorist known in your city. This terrorist was an illegal immigrant who broke the law to enter our country during the Biden-Harris border crisis in March 2023. “It's wrong to block the federal government's actions, designed to ensure the security of its members.”
“Your city and your members deserve to be protected from such threats, and we urge you to prioritize their needs over the needs of criminals and terrorists,” the letter continued.
