Israel launches retaliatory strikes at Lebanon amid shaky ceasefire with Hezbollah

Israel launched a retaliatory strike against Lebanon amid a volatile ceasefire with Lebanese extremist group Hezbollah, which was mediated late last year.

Israeli forces said they hit dozens of Hezbollah rocket launchers and command centres this weekend in response to rockets, a Lebanese extremist group targeting the Jewish state.

Since Israel resumed attacks in the Gaza Strip, around 600 people have been killed, local health officials, a tally that does not distinguish between combatants and civilians.

Since the Hamas terrorist attacks on Israel on October 7, 2023, Israel has killed around 1,200 people, extremist groups have taken around 250 hostages, and other groups in the Iran-backed region have directed Israeli purposes.

Hezbollah began attacking Israel on October 8, 2023. The Israeli-Hezbollah War escalated last September, with the IDF launching airstrikes, killing most of the leadership of Lebanese extremist groups.
