‘Never seen one this bad’

“Real-Time” host Bill Maher warned Democrats that if their party does not accept deregulation, they might face the same fate as the Whigs.

In a panel discussion on Friday, Maher issued an NBC poll warning that showed Democrats only had a 27% approval rating.

“I've never seen anything worse,” Maher responded.

Maher quoted later American Rezoning ProjectDemocrats predicted they would lose seats in California, New York, Illinois, Minnesota, Rhode Island and Oregon by 2030, but Republicans will win seats in Texas, Florida, Idaho and Utah.

“I mean, this looks like a game over. And the reason people are voting on their feet is a lot of things in your book: taxes and regulations.” “I was certainly screaming about it forever. I've been here for three years, 'How long does it take to connect solar? 3 years. I couldn't speak on TV in this state!”

“We are taxed more than any other state. People leave this kind of state for where they are. [don’t] Please feel the government's intense breath for them… It's not that difficult for Democrats to understand this, but they aren't. It seems they can't do anything about it,” he continued.

Klein responded by citing a poll showing why people leave the Blue State, highlighting that if the 2030 forecast is retained, Red State's profits could ultimately win a presidential election without the Blue Wall states of Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin.

“They are pushing people out of the states they govern because the cost of living is too high. He said, “But the big problem is that they don't have enough what people need, not enough homes, not enough energy, nor governments that can deliver governments. They've treated it as not a real problem.”

The liberal columnist continued to praise Texas and how cities like Houston and Austin are booming because of their friendly environment for home and energy development. He noted the irony that despite opposition to the Texas GOP's clean energy, it thrives in a lonely star state due to deregulation.

“We need Elon Musk in California to do what he's doing to the government in a sane way,” Maher said. “So if you have 400,000 regulations and you can't build a high-speed rail that started in 2008, someone has to come here. Who is on the left?”

“The left doesn't want to ease,” replied Subsack writer Andrew Sullivan. “They don't have the instinct to ease regulations.”

“They have to get over it, or they'll be Whigs,” Maher responded, referring to the Whigs that had collapsed in the 1850s.
