Rep. Pat Ryan (D-N.Y.), a military veteran, called for a Congressional hearing on Monday, stating, “Only one word for this: Fubar” in a post, referencing the phrase “f—– Beyond All Awareness.” He added, “If House Republicans don't hold a hearing about what happened soon, I'll make it my damn self.”
Ryan, an Army military intelligence officer who served in Iraq twice, responded to a News Report, describing his experience of being looped into American war plans via a text chain on an encrypted messaging app.
The text chain, which included senior Trump administration officials, including Vice President Pence, National Security Adviser McMaster, Secretary of State Rubio, Director of National Intelligence Gabbard, and Defense Secretary Hegseth, appears to have been accessed by Jeffrey Goldberg, an editor at The Atlantic.
According to Goldberg, the text chain was used to discuss the strike against Yemen’s Houthi militants, which began on March 15th, two days after he was invited to join the “Houthi PC Small Group” on March 13th.Golberg initially suspected the text group was authentic but expressed surprise at being included in discussions with senior US officials, describing it as “reckless.” National Security Council spokesman Brian Hughes confirmed the authenticity of the message chain, stating it demonstrated deep policy coordination among senior officials and posed no threat to military or national security.
