UConn staffer threatened to ‘ruin’ reporter over Dan Hurley video

The staff surrounding Dan Harley seem to handle the loss in a similar way to his boss.

“I hope they don't f-k like we've keen us,” Harley cried out at Baylor.

Charlotte Sports Live Reporter Joey Ellis recorded Harley's rant, and the clip went viral. He threatens to “destroy” Ellis' life if he doesn't cooperate..

Ellis left the video on his X account, and Mullen later issued a statement that doubled his complaints about the clips of Hurley being filmed, not about his own actions.

“The enduring image of Superintendent Harley leaving the court should have been walking the arms of the court with his elderly man, overwhelmed by emotion,” Mullen said in a statement. “Instead, a reporter from an area where he shouldn't have been recorded private comments on his cell phone to another coaching staff member.”

Mullen also joined his own X account after the incident.

“PR Man screams in a reporter. 11 news,” Mullen wrote in a now-deleted post. “I have a degree in journalism and know the difference between reporting and looking for 'gotcha' moments. My temperament flares up a bit in moments of weakness after loss, but I think that the journalist who works regularly will assure me. ”

Harley is a polarized coach and person. He is one of the most outspoken and emotionally driven coaches in the sport. All led the Husky to back-to-back national championships before they hadn't reached three peats in their second round tournament loss to No. 1 seed Florida on Sunday.

Over the past few years, dealing with PR and Hurley's infinite number of eyes, Mullen has certainly filled his hands.

Now that he was at work, Maren needs to worry even more after he seemed to threaten to ruin the reporter's life.
