Canada could be ‘overwhelmed’ by illegals thanks to Trump, professor warns

The Canadian professor warned that the Trump administration's strict border enforcement could lead to a surge in illegal immigration and drug smuggling in Canada.

Mount Royal University's Kelly Sandberg spoke about “60 minutes of overtime” on Sunday night, about the “tsunami” of illegal immigrants who are expected to pass through the United States for fear of being arrested or deported.

“I hope I'm wrong, but I'm sure I'll feel overwhelmed by the illegal immigrants fleeing the US authorities that come to our country.

Tom Homan gives a bold message to the sanctuary city “slowly on the ice” and warns them that they “continue coming.”

Sandberg exacerbated concerns about fentanyl trafficking, citing President Donald Trump's move to send thousands of “illegal criminal aliens” to Guantanamo Bay as a major factor in promoting migration to Canada.

Elsewhere in the segment, anonymous Mexican cartel members revealed that they are seeing immigrants hoping to be smuggled into the United States compared to before the Trump administration.

“Most of them are Venezuelans,” said a member of the cartel. “These people are afraid of being deported to their country. Usually we didn't see much before. Maybe every 30 people we crossed, there's three or four people out there.

The Canadian border attracted more attention last month as the report allegedly promoted what appears to be a human crowding operation to sneak illegal immigrants into the United States through the northern border.

Trump has also been critical of Canadian borders, accusing them of not being able to properly secure the border and prevent the influx of fentanyl.

In February, the illegal border crossing, the first month of Trump's second term, fell to a record low of 8,326 illegal immigrants by the U.S. Customs and Border Patrol (CBP). This marked a 96% drop from the highest reported by the Biden administration in December 2023.
