FBI on ‘Frenzied Mission’ to Redact Epstein Files Ahead of Release

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is reportedly working overtime on a “frenzy mission” to edit Epstein files before they are made public.

The FBI reviews documents and other evidence related to Jeffrey Epstein's investigation to be edited before the Department of Justice (DOJ) is made public. I said CNN.

Because of the Trump administration's promise of transparency, the FBI now works around the clock “desperately” with public interest in the issues surrounding Epstein's death, coupled with whether the prominent figures relate to alleged crimes of dishonest financiers when he was alive.

Some agents are even asked to temporarily remove other investigations to complete their edits, while others are working on projects at their Washington Field offices over the weekend, sources told the outlet.

“Under the Attorney General's leadership, the Department of Justice is relentlessly working to provide unprecedented transparency to Americans,” a DOJ spokesman told CNN, adding that “all proper management and legal requirements are being complied with.”

The agent was seen submitting it to a room at the FBI headquarters, where he “sitted at a computer bank for hours. Using editing software to identify required edits under federal laws, including privacy laws,” the outlet reported the source's claim.

Meanwhile, other FBI agents were reportedly seen heading to the agency's field offices in New York and Virginia to work on editorial projects.

The move comes after influencers received the Epstein files on the binder last month, bringing criticism from the public as the documents were overwhelming and contained information already publicly available.

DOJ and FBI officials believe the second tranche of the file scheduled for release in the coming days will not include bombs, but one official keeps CNN that it will be granted access to more information than if US General Pam Bondi had not ordered a review.

“The goal is transparency,” said a DOJ official.

Meanwhile, Bondi wrote to FBI Director Kash Patel.

“The Department of Justice ensures that the disclosure of these files is done in order to protect the privacy of the victims and in accordance with the law, just as I have done my entire career as a prosecutor,” she added.
