US District Judge Lee H. Rosenthal blocked the Texas A&M University Regents Committee's enforcement of a drug show ban. This argues that an event called “Draggieland” must be allowed to be held at university facilities later this week.

The grant of the interim injunction challenged the move to ban the Texas A&M University Regent Committee's drug show, as the Queer Empowerment Council of Texas A&M University, behind “Drug Gieland.”

“Drug Gieland is a long-standing, award-winning, student-run event that embodies strange joys and unity,” the Queer Empowerment Council said last month in a statement in response to the ban.
A Texas A&M University spokesperson told Fox News Digital in an email Monday that the agency could not comment on the pending lawsuit.
“The system is receiving opinions and assessing the next step,” a spokesman for the Texas A&M University System told Fox News Digital on Monday.
Fox News Digital reached out to request comment from Tamu's Queer Empowerment Council, but did not receive a response by the time of publication.

The resolution states, ” Given that both the system and the university receive large amounts of federal funding, the use of facilities at universities for drug show events could be viewed as a promotion of gender ideology in violation of executive orders and governor's directives.”
