Ben Affleck has set the record straight for the “root cause” of his divorce from Jennifer Lopez.
Affleck and Lopez were finalised in January, about two years after they got married at the actor Georgia real estate. The “Argo” star pointed out that while people are speculating about the issues that led to their divorce from JLO, the real reason is much more normal than everyone believes. Affleck and Lopez's various approaches to fame are mentioned as the cause of the division after Lopez's premiere, “The Greatest Love Story,” was told.
“Part of it is because 'Okay, if I'm going to take part in this, I'll try to do it honestly and in a fun way.' I thought it was an interesting exam,” Affleck explained in the cover story. GQ Magazine. “There are many people out there who think that Jennifer dealt with celebrities more cleverly and richly than I have.
“My temperament is to be a little more reserved and private than her. You don't always have the same attitude towards these things, as happens in a relationship.

“I love and support this person. I believe in them. They are amazing. I want people to see it,” he continued. “And I think what I said in the documentaries I said and the works they used was “You didn't marry the ship's captain and you said, 'Well, I don't like going out to the water.” You must own what you knew to enter into any relationship.
The actor later shared that there were no major moments that ended the marriage.
“I have nothing but respect [for Lopez]. I think there is a tendency to look at breaking up and identify the root cause. But honestly, like I said, the truth is probably a much more estimator than people believe or funny. ”

Affleck emphasized his divorce with Lopez as “no scandal, no melodrama or conspiracy.”
“The truth is, when you talk to someone, they say, 'Hey, what happened?' Well, 'This is what happened,' the “Accountant 2” star said. “It's about people who try to grasp their lives and relationships as we normally do. And as you get older, this is true to me. I mean, that's true for most people. It really sounds like a couple's treatment session. This will adjust from the treatment of other couples after a while.
“For one thing, you start moving on, 'Okay, obviously this person has it. these problem. Obviously they have these problem. 'And the reason I don't want to share it is a bit embarrassing. I feel vulnerable. ”
“The truth is, when you talk to someone, they say, 'Hey, what happened?' Well, 'This is what happened.' It's just a story about people trying to understand their lives and relationships in the way we do it all. ”

Affleck has been dealing with celebrities and fame since the start of his career, and has played a breakout role in “Good Will Hunting.” The actor still doesn't understand why the public is so interested in his everyday life.
“I know it's absurd and it's ridiculous,” he told the outlet. “There is nothing worth reporting about the daily events of my life or the conversations I have with the people I have photographed.

“And often the big trick is to say, 'This is right' means some degree of correlation between the two. In other words, some broad events occur in some way around this person's life, whether global.
“I focused on seeing it, knowing what's going on in my life, and more importantly, my kids know. [Jennifer Garner] And I know when they see something at the supermarket stands, “I know this isn't necessarily true.

The actor said the attention is “more like a headache than anything else, and certainly can be bad.”
He also praised Garner, who Affleck married in 2005.
“And I am truly fortunate that I have a really good parent and partner for Jennifer Garner, the mother of Jennifer Garner's children.

“And I'm really fortunate to Jennifer Garner, the mother of a child, Jennifer Garner, and we're doing great and wonderful, and we're working fine.”
Affleck and Garner announced their separation in 2015. However, the two were not finalized for another three years. Meanwhile, Affleck went to rehabilitation twice, and the two received marriage counseling.

After his divorce from Garner, Affleck rekindled his relationship With Jennifer Lopez. The couple's marriage lasted about two years. Lopez and Affleck married in 2022 and were finalised in January 2025.
