Gabbard, Ratcliffe Testify That No Classified Material Shared in Group Chat

Both National Intelligence Director Tarsi Gabbard and Central Intelligence Director John Ratcliffe said in testimony sworn in the Senate on Tuesday that agencies and materials shared in group chats created by national security adviser Mike Waltz would not coordinate military strikes against the Hoosis.

Gabbard said, “There was no classified material shared in that signal chat,” Ratcliffe said, “My communication was completely acceptable and legal in signalling message groups, and did not include classification information.”

Gabbard also said, “We can at any time prove that there was no classification or intelligence shares that were included in that chat group.”

Editor-in-Chief Jeffrey Goldberg revealed in a report Monday that it was accidentally added to the group chat on March 13, along with 17 top Trump national security authorities.

According to New York Post, Jeffrey Goldberg, passing through “JG” with a signal, was accidentally added in place of US trade representative Jamie Songlia.

Democrats and Trump critics are trying to use the narrative to argue that the Trump administration's handling of confidential materials is incompetent.

Mark Warner (D-VA), a ranking member of the Senate Intelligence Email Committee, spent most of his opening statements at hearings discussing the story, and spent time questioning witnesses Gabbard, Warner and FBI director Kashpatel in the story.
