13-year-old boy allegedly shot dead classmate after bus fight

Police and the victim's loved ones say the 14-year-old girl was shot dead in a playground in Texas, then went home and wore a black outfit and grabbed a gun and a mask.

Police say Anaya Zachary was shot four times on Friday at a playground outside her Baytown apartment, about 25 miles east of Baytown.

A 13-year-old boy who has not been identified due to his age – has been detained and charged with murder, According to KPRC 2.

The boy targeted Zachary and then brought them home earlier in the day after they “on it on the bus”, Anaya's God Mother Sonya Stanford I told the outlet.

“He went home, he wore all the black masks, he went back and called my baby's name, and he shot my baby four times,” she said.

The Godmother's own daughter tells her that Zachary never bullies the boy.

“She was a sweet child and a student in the honor roll. 'Yes, Maam, no, no, thank you, thank you.' This was a sweet baby,” Stanford said.

Stanford even wants to tell the boy that he is “not angry” and “forgive him.”

“I say you (his parents) should have put your weapon.

“I'm very hurtful. I'm very disappointed.”

The juvenile was charged with murder and remains in custody, police said. The mother, who was injured while holding the baby, was taken to hospital for treatment but was seriously injured, officers said.

“This tragic incident had a profound impact on our community.” Baytown Police Chief John Stringer said “The meaningless act of violence.”

“This case serves as a reminder of the importance of peaceful conflict resolution and the serious consequences of violence.”
