A former Freddie Mac technical employee was arrested Wednesday, local authorities said.
The suspect, identified as Maria del Carmen Lopez Losanno, is said to have posted a series of surprising statements on social media on March 25, 2025. Lopez Rosanneau said, “I'm going to blow everything up with Freddie Mac now, so I know this isn't the real thing. It's real, it's not a fake.”

Prior to the online threat, 38-year-old Lopez Lozano was reportedly following the company's campus after going live on Facebook while passing the HQ1 building on the Freddie Mac. She later went live again, this time impersonating a senior Freddie Mac executive and falsely claims she was rehired and promoted by Bill Prute, director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency.
Fairfax County police arrested Lopez Rosanno and charged her with threats with bombs and trespassing.
Lopez Rozanno was released from custody on the morning of March 27, according to Fairfax County Police.
According to anyone familiar with the issue, she has since resumed threatening to Freaddie Mac employees and Pulte with another Facebook live stream.
Freddie Mac and FHFA declined to comment. FHFA is a regulator of Freddie Macs and has acted as its guardian since the company was rescued by the government during the 2008 financial crisis.
The reason for spurring the threat of Lopez Rosanno is unknown, and police have not released any additional information about her motive. Former Freddie Mac CEO Diana Reid recently left Freddie Mac and her sister company Fannie May's board member recently. Media reports say some employees have recently taken administrative leave and others have eliminated jobs.
Federal Housing Director Bill Putur has not commented publicly on the incident. Lopez Rosanno could not be reached for comment.
