After the first argument during a game with the Knicks Lakers on March 6, Smith called out James when he was told he was not at the service ceremony of James legend Coby Bryant on Thursday, and then appeared to criticize James' character.

“I've never really grown up and have never really discussed why you weren't in Kobe Bryant's service ceremony.”
It was later confirmed that James was actually being served.
Smith later I corrected myself and apologizedwhile standing beside his other criticisms of James.
“When the guy was directly responsible for winning the championship for the first time in your career, I didn't really develop or discuss why you didn't attend the Dwyane Wade Hall of Fame,” he said.
On the other side of beef, James trolled Smith on Instagram Smith's boxing skills clipif you can call them that.
James accompanied the clip with a caption full of laughing emojis who were clearly not impressed by Smith's abilities.

The drama all stems from an interaction earlier this month when James spoke to Smith to talk about his son Bronnie on a personal non-basketball level.
Smith has spoken extensively about the subject as James first commented after the confrontation on Wednesday's “Pat McAfee Show.”
“It's never going to allow people who talk about sports to criticise players for what they're doing on the court. It's a job that criticizes your job… it's all part of the game.” “When you take it and get it personally, it's my job to protect my damn home, not just protect my damn home.”
“know [Smith’s] You'll be happy like hell when you hear me talking about him. He gets home, picks up ice cream from Frezer, devours the freezer, and sits in a tight Horiti chair on the couch. Relax, companions. ”
