Cammack encourages Trump to 'elevate' Stefanik after midterms

Florida Rep. Kat Cammack (R) said he hopes to “elevate” Rep. Elise Stefanik (RN.Y.) following news this week that President Trump has taken her nomination to become the UN ambassador to keep her home.

Cammack said in an interview on NewsMax's “Wake Up America” on Friday that Stefanik will become a “rock star” and be welcomed back to home and GOP leadership. She told Stefanik, “This is terrible, but we all understand.”

“But my hope is that President Trump will be able to find a way to really raise her profile after the midterm and put her in a place where she can truly continue to serve her in a great place in our country,” Kamac said.

The White House informed the Senate Foreign Relations Committee on Thursday that it had withdrawn Stefanik's appointment to the UN ambassador after rumors that the appointment would be withdrawn.

Trump later confirmed his decision on the true society, citing uncertainty about how a special election that replaces her with the narrow GOP house majority will unfold. Stefanik District, New York 21st The Congressional District was extremely conservative, with Stephanik voting for Trump with 21 points in November and 24 points.

The decision was even more conservative ahead of two special elections in Florida next week, one of which raised concerns about Republicans about the possibility that Democratic candidates could separate their upset or at least get far closer than usual.

Republicans currently have a majority of 218-213 in the House, allowing the party to lose up to two votes and pass the law on the party's line split.

Trump said Stefanik will rejoin the “House Leadership Team,” but what position she will hold is unclear as she gave up on her post as chairman of the House Republican Conference after being nominated for ambassador. Rep. Lisa McClain (r-mich.) was chosen to take her spot, and sources confirmed that she is not planning to resign.

All other top GOP leadership positions are also met. Sources had told the hill that the leader was trying to create a position for her.

Stefanik told Fox News Thursday night that she would stay home, but the decision was to become a “team player.” She said she had multiple conversations with Trump during the day.
