Trump admin revokes 300 student visas amid crackdown on Hamas supporters: Rubio

The Trump administration has already revoked at least 300 student visas amid crackdowns on Prohama supporters, State Department Director Marco Rubio said Thursday.

January Presidential OrderPresident Donald Trump has vowed to take steps to help his administration fight anti-Semitism.

“We've given you a visa to come and study and earn your degree. We're not going to be a social activist who tears our university campus.”

“To all the resident aliens who participated in the pro-jihadist protests, we have notified you: in 2025 we will find you, and we will expel you.

Earlier this month, the State Department confirmed that it had sought the first student visa for individuals accused of being involved in the pro-Hama Campus protest.

Since then, Rubio has reported that the department has revoked visas for at least 300 foreign students.

During Thursday Press conference In Guyana, Rubio told reporters, “Maybe more. Maybe there's over 300 at this point. We do that every day. Every time we find one of these insane people, I take their visa.”

“At some point, we've taken all of them off, so we hope we run out. But we're looking for these crazy guys every day who's tearing things apart,” he continued. “By the way, we also want to remove the gang members.”

Rubio confirmed that the State Department has revoked the visa for Lu Mesa Ozturk, a Turkish national attending Tufts University.

A Reuters reporter noted that he asked Rubio to explain why the Ozturk visa was cancelled and wrote his opinion on the “Gaza War.”

“We've canceled it and why here,” replied Rubio. “If you say that you're applying for a visa to enter the US and become a student and coming to the US is not just because you want to write OP-EDS, but because you want to take part in moves like destroying universities, harassing students, taking over buildings, creating racks, etc., we won't give you Visa.

He called it “crazy” and “silly” for a country that “trys to start a riot” or welcomes “taking over the library and taking over people.”

“We gave visas to come and study and earn our degree, rather than becoming a social activist that tears our university campuses,” Rubio added.

State Department officials said earlier axios“We literally discovered a Zero Visa revocation during the Biden administration,” he added.
