College Basketball Crown: Unique tournament trophy unveiled

The College Basketball Crown has announced a unique trophy that will be handed over to winners of the 16-team men's postseason tournament held in Las Vegas next month.

The announcement of the crown came in the middle of a week's huge news surrounding the tournament.

The tournament will include names, images and portrait (nil) prizes awarded to schools that receive the $300,000 Nil package. The second-placed school wins a $100,000 package, and the two semi-finalists win $50,000 through the Vivid Seats Ambassador program.

“We are trying to develop the student-athlete experience,” Jordan Bazant, executive vice president of Fox Sports, said Tuesday. “College football has evolved in so many ways. There are no big-name bowl experiences in the basketball program. There are 12 NBA teams coming to this event. If you're in an NCAA tournament or NIT, you can't send someone to every game.

“For our program, this is their first game and the first week of 2025-26. It cleanses you in the year you've had to some degree or offers the next step in the program.”

Arizona, Boise, Butler, Cincinnati, Colorado, DePaul, Georgetown, George Washington, Nebraska, Oregon, Tulane, UCF, USC, Utah, Villanova and Washington all compete. The game will be held at the T-Mobile Arena and MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

The tournament begins on Monday and runs until April 6th. You can watch the game on FS1 and the finals will be displayed in Fox.

Fox Sports is holding a Super 6 contest to help fans predict the tournament game.

Competitors must predict team and player performance, compete with other Fox Sports fans, and climb the leaderboard for shots at the top awards. The first prize includes $3,000. Second place brings $1,000 to competitors. The third place winner is $500, the fourth place winner is $250, the fifth place winner is $150, and the sixth place winner is $100.
