Navarro labels reported sidelining 'fake news'

White House trade adviser Peter Navarro reports that despite a series of public spats with tech billionaire Elon Musk, his job is safe and that he claims he was sidelined from decision-making.

Navarro, who also served under Trump's first administration, addressed the claim that he was placed on the bench. Thursday's interview Along with Fox News' “Jesse Watters Primetime.” In his counterargument, he called the proposal “fake news.”

“That's fake news, Jesse. I'll say this about this team I work with. I mean, when we had a lot of people fighting and had different voices, and whenever our boss wanted to do something, there was someone who wanted to hold him back,” he told host Jesse Watters.

“There's a unique set of skills here. You're not only with President Trump, the Chief Commander and Chief Deal Maker, but with people involved, you're incredible hands,” Navarro added.

He was especially praised by Commerce's Secretary of Treasury, Howard Lutnick and Treasury Secretary Scott Bescent for his ability to oversee trade regulations while taking into account market changes throughout his years of experience in the finance sector.

Former hedge fund manager Bessent has bolstered the media's arrival amid the trade war looming with the Trump administration's latest tariffs on almost all foreign trading partners. These import taxes are part of what exacerbated the debate between Navarro and Musk, and are subject to a 90-day suspension, except for China.

When asked about the tangled trade advisory with Tesla's CEO (the president's top ally), the White House mainly brushed off TIFF. Others, including Musk's brother and former Trump staff member Mick Mulvaney, have argued that Navarro should be let go.
