It appeared McLaren locked out the front row during qualifying all week at Formula 1 Grand Prix. Teammates Rand Norris and Oscar Piastri were actually replaced at the top of the timing sheet, with the rest of the grid pointing to the McLaren duo as the dominant force heading for qualifying once more.
Piastri took the pole position for Bahrain Grampurin on Sunday, and Norris was disappointed and qualified sixth place after finishing more than a quarter behind his teammates.
“I didn't make 1/10 faster [on his second Q3 lap]Norris said Sky Sports F1 After the qualifying round.
“I'm not fast enough.”
Norris is notorious for struggling with himself. That characteristic was evident through his interview after the qualifying round in Bahrain. I was asked Sky Sports F1 Norris literally pointed out himself figuratively what he was wrong.
“I have no thoughts. Honestly, I don't know. It's not enough,” Norris added, pointing to her chest.
Norris was even more critical of his performance when talking to the official F1 channel.
“I was just late. Honestly, I was late this weekend. Honestly, it's not that surprising. I just stopped doing it,” the McLaren driver began. “It feels like I've never driven an F1 car before. I'm struggling a lot. I don't know why. I need to find some answers.
“The cars are amazing. There's nothing to complain about. The cars, the team is doing a great job, Oscar rides poles with a good chunk. I'm grateful to the team. They do a great job.
Regarding the outlook for Sunday, Norris admitted that the victory is likely to break out of the card, but the podium was possible.
“It's about trying to win a race, but I don't think I'll win tomorrow. I think trying to get to the podium will be the best chance,” Norris added.
“I think Oscar will hit everyone. I'm trying to get to the second place.”
