St. Louis Zoo Mourns Death of over 100-Year-Old Giant Tortoise

One of the oldest animals cared for at St. Louis Zoo in Missouri died due to digestive health issues.

The creature was identified as Othello, an Aldabra giant turtle that was over 100 years ago. It has been reported Thursday.

Posting zoos on social media I said He was humanely euthanized due to health disorders related to gastrointestinal problems.

The zoo guests and employees loved Othello, who was clearly very friendly and often attracted the attention of his keeper.

The Aldabra turtle is one of the largest land turtles on the planet, Live For over 100 years, according to the Smithsonian National Zoo and the Institute of Conservation and Biology.
