PETA Thanks Trump Admin for Phasing Out Animal Testing at FDA, EPA

Animal rights nonprofit PETA praises the Trump administration for its work to end animal testing within the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and thanks them for not spareing tens of thousands of animals every year.

FDA announcement On Thursday, it abolished animal testing requirements for antibody therapy and other drugs in favor of “more effective and human-related methods.”

“FDA animal testing requirements will be reduced, refined or potentially exchanged using a variety of approaches, including AI-based computational models of toxicity and cell lines, as well as organoid toxicity testing in laboratory settings (so-called new approach methods or NAMS data),” the administrator said.

FDA committee member Martin A. McCurry said the pharmaceutical company is running “additional animal testing of drugs.”

“By leveraging AI-based computational modeling, human organ model-based lab testing, and real human data, we can treat patients faster and more reliably, while reducing R&D costs and drug prices.” Robert F. Kennedy Jr. “Make America healthy again” teamadded. “It’s an advantage for both public health and ethics.”

The EPA made a similar announcement on the same day, along with a spokesman for administrator Lee Zeldin. I’ll say it Washington Times The agency should restore policies from the first Trump administration to phase out animal testing.

“Under President Trump’s first term, the EPA signed an order to prioritize efforts to reduce animal testing and to reduce mammal testing by 30% by 2025 and to eliminate it entirely by 2035,” the spokesman said. “The Biden administration has halted progress in these efforts by delaying compliance deadlines. Zeldin, the administrator, is fully committed to getting agents off the ground to eliminate animal testing.”

I have PETA Blast Health officials such as Dr. Anthony Forsey have released the positives for past animal testing statement In response to the Trump administration’s recent policy directives.

“PETA praises the FDA’s decision to adopt human-related testing strategies to stop harmful animals and evaluate antibody therapy,” said Kathy Guillermo, PETA’s senior vice president.

“This is an important step in meeting the agency’s commitment to exchange the use of animals that PETA works hard to promote. All animal use, including failed vaccines and other tests in monkeys at federally funded primate centers, calls on the FDA to embrace more of 21st century science.

Animal rights groups have further thanks to the X administration after White House press secretary Caroline Leavitt shared Fox News article About the topic:

“The White House spokesman highlights this milestone. PETA thanked the Trump administration for modernizing the FDA and helping tens of thousands of animals get killed each year with expensive, archaic clinical testing,” the group wrote.
