Caroline Wozniacki’s Masters ‘winner’ comments resurface after ex Rory McIlroy’s win

Rory McIlroy’s fallout from the thrilling 2025 Masters victory continues.

The Northern Irish completed a career grand slam at Augusta National, where comments from the tournament by tennis star Caroline Wozniacki, former fiancee of McIlroy, have circulated online, beating England’s Justin Rose in the one-hole playoffs.

Wozniacki, who is currently married to former Knicks player David Lee, is hoping for a third child, and spoke to ESPN on Augusta about his Masters experience and predicted a winner not named McIlroy.

“Husband, my husband, we always choose the winner before the tournament begins.” Wozniacki saidcovered in a mirror. “We choose what we think we have the potential to win, and that [Ludvig] Åberg. ”

The comments have been talked about considering McIlroy’s history with Wozniacki (the golfer is said to have broken his engagement after the wedding invitation was mailed in 2014), but the 2018 Australian Open winner has long retreated that romance.

“At this point, Rory’s is the water under the bridge. She’s invited by the Master, she’s a huge fan and David is an avid golfer.” The source said Added Wozniacki to “advanced her life” every Monday.

Wozniacki, 34, confirmed his romance with 41-year-old Lee in 2017. They tied the knot Two years later.

Meanwhile, McIlroy married Erica Stoll in 2017, and the couple welcomed their daughter Poppy in 2020.

When Stole and Poppy were in Augusta on Sunday, McIlroy captured his first green jacket in an emotional scene.

McIlroy, who first filed for divorce in May 2024 and settled with Stoll last summer, accepted the biggest fans when he celebrated a career milestone after the final round of the roller coaster.

“There was a point in my career that I didn’t know if I had this lovely outfit on my shoulder,” McIlroy said. I was nervous. It was one of the toughest days I’ve ever had on a golf course.”

Oberg was competing throughout the week – and at one point he was tied to Sunday’s lead – then finished the tournament with a disastrous triple bogey and dropped him into his seventh tie.

Entering Sunday, McIlroy won his last major title in the PGA Championship in 2014.
