Vivek Ramaswamy’s lead in the Ohio governor’s race flew significantly after President Donald Trump offered him his approval.
Lamaswamy announced his run to the governor of Ohio in February, pledging to “leave Ohio to excellence.”
As a result, he is the first to be directed at the GOP primary against Republican Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost. In January, prior to his announcement, Ramaswamy had already led Yost in the hypothetical primary matchup.
By April, following President Donald Trump’s support, Ramaswamy’s lead had grown even further, jumping from 52% support to 71% support. This is a 19-point jump. At this point, he is 60 percentage points ahead of his closest potential competitor, Jim Tressel. Yost continues with 10% support.
According to the poll, “To drive this great growth in both Ramaswamy’s image and his voting score is the fact that the vast majority of RPVs recognizes that he is supported and supported by POTUS.”
The survey was conducted between April 6th and 10th, 2025.
In fact, President Donald Trump quickly supported Governor Race Ramaswamy.

During his announcement, Ramaswamy praised Trump for “reviving our beliefs in America.”

“I was born and raised. A state where today Apolva and I will raise two sons. The best days are still ahead,” continued Ramaswamy. “I am honored to announce my candidacy to serve as Ohio’s next governor.”
