Former President Joe Biden took a shot with the Trump administration’s Social Security policy in his first major speech since leaving the White House on Tuesday evening.
“Seriously, people are truly worried that Social Security benefits could be delayed or suspended for the first time in history, for the only time in history,” Biden said from advocates, counselors and representatives of the ACRD Conference held in Chicago on Tuesday evening.
“90 years after Franklin Roosevelt created the Social Security system, people have been constantly undergoing Social Security checks, and they won them during the war, during the recession, and during the pandemic.
The ACRD Conference was billed as the first public speech of the 46th President After leaving the White House. However, Biden has been in other official duties since January 20th, Fox Digital has not attracted media attention, including speaking in front of the National High School Model United Nations in March, and attended this month’s International Brotherhood Electrical Workers Event.
According to its website, ACRD is an advocacy organization that works to equip disability professionals with tools, technology and training to advance the industry.

Biden’s keynote, which took less than an hour, focused he overwhelmingly on his achievements with Social Security when he was president, and is said to have received decades of jokes about his decades in politics, as he kept older people at night with concerns about social security benefits.

“Why are these guys trying to get social security now?” Biden asked, referring to the Trump administration. “Well, they’re following that old line of high-tech startups. The quote is “moving faster and breaking things.” They certainly break things. They shoot first and aim later. ”

“What are they doing all the time… by running through the debts of the citizens, then by stealing money from elsewhere. What are the two big money in the raw numbers? Social Security and Medicaid. [friends]. Who do you think they are? ” he said.

Senator Debbie Stabenow, D-Mich. and former Democratic Social Security Administrator and Martin O’Malley, the Governor of Maryland, participated in the event. O’Malley presented ACRD’s “Beacon of Hope Award” to Biden for his performance as president, including fighting for leadership and “dignity of all” during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Biden added that the country is “divided” under Trump and cannot continue the same path.
“We cannot continue this way as a divided country like this. Like us, I have done this for a long time. This has never been divided.
The Trump administration’s official Social Security X account returned after a speech that “Biden is lying to Americans.” He then repeatedly pledges to protect his benefits, providing a detailed list of “facts” including that field offices have not been closed since January 20th.
“SSA is taking common sense steps to transform how we serve the public. Last month we spent $16.5 million on modernizing telephone services across the country. The event occurs when a political book examining the 2024 campaign cycle hits the shelf. Includes “The Unknown: How Trump defeated Biden, Harris in the Wildest Campaign in History” and “The Battle: The Wildest Battle for the White House.”
