Trent Grisham saves day for Yankees with great catch

It may come when the Yankees do not regularly rule out Jasson Domínguez from games they are leading late in defensive purposes.

And it could have happened Tuesday night.

After all, it may have saved the Yankees for a 4-2 victory over the Royals.

Trent Grisham joined the game at the 7th top center field, while Cody Bellinger moved left from center for Dominguez and quickly paid a dividend.

Hunter Renfroe first, MJ Melendez excavated a flyball into the warning track in the right centre field where Grisham made a strong running catch, to help him keep his two-run lead unharmed.

“Great,” said Max Fried, who was still on the mound at the time. “I felt like I lost it there the seventh time. That ball lands, [Renfroe] He was pretty offensive trying to get to the second, so there was a chance he could score from the start. So to allow him to catch that damage limit. ”

Manager Aaron Boone said Dominguez will get used to leaving him to the full game before Tuesday’s game, with Dominguez finishing his best defensive game of the season on Monday night.

But Boone also considers Grisham a luxury to be a defensive alternative. This was bolstered on Tuesday night.

“The first Playglish goes outside and plays incredible,” Boone said. “This is just part of how JDs continue to be more and more comfortable using the roster here.”

In Dominguez’s first 15 starts this season, he is now painted 7 times late (except Tuesday because of his contact details).

Devin Williams recorded his third save of the season on Tuesday, but recorded his first clean outing as a member of the Yankees.

He cut it off with a strikeout from Melendez on his trademark Changeup.

“Even some outings he struggled with, he flashed all of that,” Boone said. “Perhaps the consistent velo of the fastball was a little more there. I thought his thing was good. The final pitch was really troublesome to finish it. Overall, I thought he was pretty sharp.”

The Yankees joined all of Major League Baseball on Tuesday in honor of Jackie Robinson By wearing his 42nd jersey, a handful of players and staff wear specially designed cleats or apparel to commemorate his legacy.

Tuesday marks the 78th anniversary of Robinson’s breaking the colour barrier of MLB by making his debut with the Brooklyn Dodgers.

“I wouldn’t be standing here today without all the sacrifices Jackie made and lots of people before me,” Judge Aaron said. I said. “So it’s a humble reminder, looking back at his story and what he went through just to play this game. I’m enjoying going out here, but he’s got a lot of hatred and threats towards him. He still went out there and had an incredible career.

Boone called Robinson “one of the most important figures in American history,” but not only did he integrate baseball; [being] Part of further integration of America and other sports. ”

It makes sense for Stanton to do that at the club’s minor league complex in Tampa, but Boone wasn’t sure if it would happen this weekend.

After Tuesday’s game, the Yankees made Alan Winans an option Clear the way Clarke Schmidt is activated from IL on Wednesday in Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
