President Trump, along with five officials from his administration – Vice President Vance, senior adviser Elon Musk, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, and Director of Management and Budget Russell Vert – has been included in Time magazine’s “100 Most Influential People of 2025” list
The six individuals represent the most significant presence from the presidential administration since the list’s inception in 2009 when former President Obama began his initial term. Time Editor-in-Chief Sam Jacobs noted in a letter that the selection process reflects “awareness of the origins of today’s global turmoil.”
The Time 100 list is distinct from the magazine’s annual “Person of the Year” title.
April 30 represents the conclusion of Trump’s initial 100 days following his return in January, yet his policy proposals have already significantly influenced immigration, foreign relations, international trade, and the federal workforce.
“No modern president has ever exerted control over the US government quite like Donald Trump,” stated Time Senior Correspondent Brian Bennett. He discussed Trump’s impact following the president’s inauguration for his second term. “The remainder of his tenure will reveal how much he can stretch the country before it fractures.”
Time’s Washington Director Massimo Calabresi emphasized Vance’s substantial role as Trump’s deputy in the section Vice President’s Selection.
“Typically, the Vice President becomes less prominent after assuming office,” Calabresi commented. “However, this is not true for JD Vance, whose visibility and influence have increased since he and Donald Trump secured the election last November.”

A vocal anti-vaccine advocate and a former independent presidential candidate, Kennedy manages shifts in federal health initiatives and vaccination messaging, despite a ongoing measles outbreak in Texas that resulted in the deaths of at least two children. 100 Time highlights his involvement in modifications to US health policies and how it contrasts with his predecessors.
A wealthy entrepreneur and a key ally for Trump’s campaign, Lutnick has endorsed the implementation of tariffs on imports from foreign nations to penalize policies he considers unfavorable.
Time reported that he was “one of the primary officials advocating for Trump’s major tariffs initiative, which incited global financial anxiety.”
“He occasionally incites the ire of White House staff and business leaders, with some believing that if the country were to enter a recession, his position could be jeopardized,” stated Time correspondent Eric Corteressa. “Others suspect that the 63-year-old Lutnick aims to bolster his influence.”
“Regardless, Lutnick’s closeness to power exemplifies one of Trump’s fundamental assumptions. Business success could translate into government success,” he remarked.
The publication referred to him as “the architect of the second-generation agenda delayed by Trump’s unpredictability and patience,” describing him as an invisible member of Trump’s team. It emphasized his role in being “a lurking government ready to pivot.” [Trump’s] Policy ideas. ”
