Americans have struggled to save daylight savings, but President Donald Trump is now considering putting an end to it.
“The House and Senate should push more sunlight harder at the end of the day. Very popular and most importantly, the clock change, the great inconvenience, and the very costly event for the government!!! DJT,” Trump wrote in a post on True Society.
A 2016 report estimated that daylight savings would cost more than $430 million a year.
But there are many others who oppose the president on the basis of public health and safety.

Previous reports on PBS have found experts like Dr. Karin Johnson of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine that dark mornings are scary to sleep. The Academy recommends permanent standard times on sunny and darker evenings.
Also in the same report from PBS, Dr. David Harkey of the Highway Safety Insurance Institute explains that commuting in dark mornings leads to more accidents.
“I mean, if I’m completely honest, I don’t care in any way,” says Eric July. Sarah Gonzalez “Saragonzales is not filtered.” “I’m sure that’s very important. They’re debating whether the clock should be turned back to af**king time.”
“It really makes me mad,” he continues. “Because every year this pops up and I think, ‘We’re going to really do that or not.” ”
