Washington Lyft driver charged with sexually assaulting teen during ride: police

The Washington state ride-share driver is behind the bar after accusing him of sexually assaulting a 16-year-old female passenger during a ride in February.

The Bellevue Police Station said 43-year-old Martin Njoki was charged with illegal imprisonment and indecent freedom on April 14 after an incident with a teenage girl in the early hours of February 17th.

After she creeps up to visit him at his home about 20 miles from Bellevue, she requests Lyft to get home, she requests Lyft to get home, Idaho politician.

When Njoki arrived to pick her up, she tried to sit in the passenger seat, but there was an item that got in the way, so she sat back. He is said to have moved the item and told her to sit in front of him.

The girl told police that she and Njoki talked throughout the drive, but the conversation changed when they approached her house. Njoki is said to have said she liked her and asked if she would “kiss and talk,” then he said he could kiss her.

Police said he told her he had a boyfriend, but he said, “But you kiss me, I won’t say it.” He is then accused of forcing her to touch his crotch and grope her when she tried to leave.

The teenager was able to escape from the car and called her boyfriend. She said she reported the assault to police at 4:39am.

Njoki’s account by Lyft has been suspended “due to allegations relating to touching passengers in sexual ways without consent,” politicians reported. Court documents obtained by the outlet said he emailed Lyft and said he didn’t touch the teenager but “I was bothered by me because I didn’t let them sit in advance.”

Fox News Digital reached out to Lyft for a statement.

Bellevue police asked his other victims to move forward, adding that they drove Mitsubishi with license plate number CBM2456.

“Sexual assault cases while using ride-sharing services are rare, but crimes occur — including cities like Bellevue,” the department said on social media.

King County Jail records show Njoki is being held on bail set at $150,000.

According to politicians, he is in the United States on a work visa with his pregnant wife and five children back home to Kenya.
