The New York Yankees said that despite Major League Baseball removing references to such activities online, they still host diversity, equity and comprehensive committees and summits.
Although MLB removed references to the DEI initiative and its DEI-centric employment pipeline program in March, sources within the organization claimed that the Yankees were still engaged in discriminatory employment practices that they thought would be over.

Ahead of Jackie Robinson Day, the annual celebration by the league where all players wear Robinson numbers, the New York Yankees were asked about their commitment to Day by the New York Daily News. The franchise said its commitment is unwavering.
“We’re excited to be able to help you get started,” said Brian Smith, Yankees’ Senior Vice President of Business and Community Relations. “Our dedication to these efforts remains the same and our Diversity and Inclusion Committee continues its work.”
