Woke wordplay warps language — and the meaning of freedom

Someone sent me a Passover greeting that traces the arc of tyranny, from ancient pharaohs to the current “dictators” of the White House. The message was left little by none of the imagination. Donald Trump is apparently a modern-day pharaoh.

The sender, of course, works in Harrisburg’s state bureaucracy. She was happy as a hibari during Joe Biden’s “compassionate” presidency, but is now seen by his swamp successor.

This is not a discussion of rights. It’s a conflict of incompatible worldviews.

In the past, I might have written her back. I might have reminded her of actually weaponizing the federal government against political adversaries. I may have pointed out the drastic executive orders, censorship conspiracy and the opposition that flourished under President Joe’s true tyranny.

Unlike Biden and his handlers, Trump made his intentions clear – and he does what he promised. Transparency is important in politics. Apparently there is no more.

I may also have focused on waste, incompetent and embedded corruption in the federal bureaucracy, including an office that cuts her checks. Government efficiency was not a stunt. That was a necessary start. And that house cleaning has been delayed for a long time.

Different ideological universes

I began to realize that it was pointless to try and discuss this acquaintance. We just talk past each other. Words do not mean the same for both of us. I don’t believe in “freedom” or “constitutional government,” but she doesn’t. The definitions assigned to those words are very radically different, so even if we use the same language, we really disagree.

This insight is A. James Gregor’s “The Ideology of Fascism“A book that sheds a valuable light on political semantics. Gregor states that fascists and communists truly believe in their own notions of “democracy” and “freedom.” They were not just twisting their language.

For example, to the awakened left, it seems perfectly reasonable to oust a child from a parent who insists on using biologically accurate pronouns. In their framework, punishing such crimes against identity is not oppressive. It is the fulfillment of genuine freedom. They argue that the law simply protects vulnerable people from unnecessary psychological harm.

New Lexicon

The narrow definition of “fascism” is clearly ignorance or even worse, as trapped in interwar European dictatorship. According to today’s progressive orthodoxy, fascism dares to defend a government where LGBTQ guidelines are not strictly followed, and where everyone is “uncompassionate.” For example, it distinguishes between citizens and undocumented immigrants.

The logic is like that. Germany once drew sharp legal lines and sees tyranny and genocide where it led them. Ergo, policies that establish solid borders or norms of citizenship must be a step towards fascism.

On the other hand, “Oligarch” does not generally refer to a mega-rich class. When I gathered after watching MSNBC, the oligarchs are now someone who has refused to donate to Maga Republicans or remove Tesla after learning that Elon Musk is a “fascist.”

Similarly, the label “white nationalists” has been reused to apply to Republicans allied in the Magazine that do not support the Democrats’ latest campaign against “white nationalism.” Trump’s support for the Voter ID Act or efforts to deport illegal criminals? We are also being told that white nationalism leaks are being said. Don’t worry that many of the ice agents who enforce these policies have dark skin. The details are irrelevant as they don’t suit the story.

Many on my side are seen as vast, futile, unconstitutional bureaucracy, and our political enemy is treated as the very embodiment of constitutional government. The constitution they respect is not written in Philadelphia. This is a “living document.” This now calls for a constantly expanding class of civil servants to achieve the goals of “democracy” that includes identity politics, lifestyle diversity and environmental doctrine.

In their view, Trump is a modern-day pharaoh, not because he integrates power, but because he makes life difficult for merciful bureaucrats. He thwarts the compassionate machine of the nation. Worse, he sows “chaos.” Unlike Democrats, they faithfully welcome millions of illegal immigrants and enrich America with a fresh wave of approved diversity.

Liberty’s language has been hijacked

This does not mean that millions of people do not ironically exploit these twisted definitions of political virtue. Also, I am not proposing moral relativism. I know where I stand. However, it is clear that a large number of voters are engulfing the entire reforms of these ideological ideology. And if basic political terms no longer mean the same thing for both sides, meaningful arguments become nearly impossible.

Now, Western Europe offers a calm example. Countries across the continent are beginning to reduce freedom of expression in their name, despite their democracy. For those driving this trend, there is no contradiction between oppression and the preservation of freedom, which we call the “free world.”

Even in European governments Our own vice president sc Their illegal tendencies argue that they protect democracy and freedom. For what? Against such “reactionary” threats such as national sovereignty, religious beliefs, and traditional gender norms.

Worse, there is an increasing number of voters in both Europe and the US. The language of freedom is hijacked to justify its opposite. And for now, hijackers don’t have a shortage of passengers willing to go with them for a ride.
