The US military strike destroyed Yemen’s major fuel port on Thursday, serving as a key source of “illegal revenue” for Hooty terrorists, according to the US Central Command.
The airstrikes targeted a Houthi-controlled RAS ISA fuel port on Yemen’s Red Sea coast. The US military said Iran-backed terrorist groups “used it to maintain military operations.”
“Despite the designation of foreign terrorists that took effect on April 5, the vessels continue to supply fuel through the Ras ISA port. The benefits from these illegal sales directly fund and maintain the efforts of Houthi’s terrorists,” read the statement that announced. Centcom.
“Today, the US military has taken action to eliminate this fuel source for Iran-backed Hooti terrorists, taking away the illegal revenue that has funded Houthi’s efforts to terrorize the entire region for more than a decade,” the statement continued. “The purpose of these strikes was to break down the source of economic power in the Houchis, which continues to be exploited by his fellow compatriots and bring about great pain.”
“This strike was not intended to harm the people of Yemen. Yemen wants to abandon the yoke of Hooti’s conquest and live in peace.”
The port of graphic video posted on social media has seen multiple infuriated fires and at least one body, which is said to mark the aftermath of the strike.
The attack killed at least 38 people and injured 102 people, Houthi-run media said. Reuters.
The US began implementing military operations against the status of Hooti in Yemen last month in response to frequent Iran-backed attacks on shipping vessels in the Red Sea.
President Trump signed an executive order in January to redesignate Houthis as a foreign terrorist organization. The Biden administration removed the label from Houthis in February 2021.
“For all Houthi terrorists, your time is over and your attacks must stop from today. If they don’t, hell will rain over you like you’ve never seen before!” Trump wrote about the true society last month when the bombing campaign began.
“The relentless attacks cost the US and the global economy billions of dollars, and at the same time risked innocent lives,” the president said.
Centcom said the strike on the fuel port should serve as a warning to “people who knowingly help and bet the actions of Houthis, their Iranian masters, and their terrorists.”
“[T]His world will not accept terrorist organizations to illegally smuggle fuel and war material,” declared Sencomb.
