In part of an interview with Maine ABC affiliate channel 8 WMTW, Attorney General Aaron Fray (D), released Thursday, said opposition to allowing biological men to play women’s sports is “driven by a lack of a lot of information and misinformation.”
Frey said, “I think some of the public’s feelings are driven by a lot of half the truth and truth, right? There were trans athletes. For years, student-athletes in Maine have always been considered for years, not just trans students, but for years, safety, privacy has always been considered, not just trans students, but for men, women, women, women, patients, women, patients, privacy, I don’t think we’re driving this strong feeling about trans students, and something else.
Frey also said that if the state follows the law and people do not like the law, it is a matter of the legislative sector and that the fact that the state follows the law is a factor in the poll.
