Florida teacher attended ‘white lie party’ with 200 kids: Officials

Officials say teachers at Florida primary schools took time off after attending a house party containing alcohol, which had around 200 children.

Carly Anderson, a teacher at Saturn Elementary School, is said to have attended a house party in January at Coco Beach Home of Elizabeth Hill Brodigan, the former principal of Theordore Roosevelt Elementary School. Fox 35. The arrest affidavit shows that around 200 people attended the “White Lee Party.” Students from several local schools attended the party.

Police say marijuana use, underage drinking and fighting were seen in the party. One child was also seen carrying a gun at Brodigan’s residence. Officials said one boy was “vomiting and shaking” in the yard.

Anderson, a former teacher at Theordore Roosevelt Elementary School, was reassigned to Saturn Elementary School after the incident. Matt Suzin, a member of the Brevard County Public School Board, told reporters Tuesday that Anderson was placed on administrative leave and called her actions “deplorable” and “disgusting.”

Anderson was initially charged with felony child abuse, but prosecutors later reduced it to misdemeanor disorderly conduct and disorderly addiction. Her charges were reduced to misdemeanors, so she was allowed to continue her job education. She initially resigned from her job, but revoked her resignation.

In a police body camera video released by the Florida State Attorney’s Office for the 18th Judicial Circuit, Anderson can be seen screaming at officers.

“You know I’m a teacher, who got me in that car?” Anderson added. “I was hanging out here at this party. I’m f— what’s wrong with them?”

Ashley Fernandez, a parent of Saturn elementary school students, said Anderson should not be near the school.

“To be honest, I was alive because the woman hasn’t been to court yet,” Fernandez told Fox35.

In a statement provided to Fox News Digital, Brevard Public Schools superintendent Mark Rendell said Anderson’s actions were unacceptable.

“All employees are kept at the highest standards of professional conduct and BPS will continue to follow all policies and procedures to ensure a fair and thorough review of this new information. The teacher’s actions seen in the footage are completely unacceptable and are consistent with the fees given and not with further investigation,” Rendell said.
