Trump’s Surprising Take on Egg Prices: “They Might Be Getting Too Low!”

Trump on egg costs: 'If anything, the prices are getting too low'

President Trump has impacted egg prices nationwide, asserting that costs are “too low” during an event at the White House on Friday.

Trump commended Agriculture Secretary Brook Rollins for performing a “great” job, stating that egg prices have “dropped 87%, yet nobody is discussing it.”

“You can obtain all the eggs. Look, we have an excess. In fact, the prices are too low. We just want to inform you that prices are decreasing,” the president commented after Dr. Mehmet Oz was sworn in as the head of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

The average wholesale egg price on Friday was $3.13, reflecting a minor rise compared to the prior week. Data from the Ministry of Agriculture indicates. Prices have been declining since February, and retail prices have started to decrease as well.

“Consumer price levels have been considerably lowered from the initial peaks, but they still remain at a level that has not increased with more predictability than typical purchasing needs,” the Department of Agriculture stated.

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, egg prices reached $6.23 per dozen in March, which was an increase of nearly a dollar from $5.90 in February and $4.95 per dozen in January.

“By the way, prices are falling. Grocery prices are coming down. Eggs, they hit me hard. I will never forget my first week in office, they were yelling at me about eggs. I asked, ‘What is an egg?’ They skyrocketed, and I replied, ‘I just arrived.’ They were up like double, triples, so you have nothing,” Trump stated on Friday.

“They mentioned you would not have eggs for Easter,” the president continued. “Well, you can have all the eggs you desire.”

Nonetheless, consumers are adjusting to egg prices, yet 49% are modifying how they celebrate their holidays. A study by Ziff Davis has revealed.
