Venezuelan Migrant Arrested for Sixth Time in a Year in Sanctuary Chicago

Authorities arrested immigrants from Venezuela in Chicago, a sanctuary city of Chicago, over 13 months after prosecutors repeatedly dropped charges in previous arrests.

Edmonds Perazar Cortez, 25, is again at the Cook County Jail. Prosecutor say He sued the 41-year-old woman and demanded she be given a gun and give her money. According to WFIN Radio, he also allegedly requested her cell phone, wallet and an electric scooter she sat on.

The Chicago Police Department reported that Cortez was arrested about an hour after allegedly facing the 41-year-old victim.

Cortez was arrested six times in Windy City over 13 months. However, he was released multiple times after prosecutors dropped most of the cases against him.
