Robot Runners Compete with People in Chinese Half Marathon

It appears that 21 Chinese robots competing with humans in Saturday’s Beijing Half Marathon could not beat the serious runners. However, some may qualify for the participating trophy.

The event, hosted by the city’s e-Town Hihub, featured a victory robot called Tiangong Ultra, among Android competitors. The race was finished in 2 hours and 40 minutes. This will be a great time for humans.

However, the human who is the winner of the event – is recorded in 1 hour and 2 minutes. Running enthusiasts say that the event’s casual runners usually run the race within two hours, one technical publication It has been reported.

The fastest metal half marathoners also needed meat and blood assistance. The man ran ahead with a signal device on his back, urging the robot to mimic his movements. In fact, TC Tech Crunch explains that most bots are remotely controlled and accompanied by human operators.

Chinese companies and student groups have built robots. Not all of them were going well or finished. Only four people were able to finish with a cut-off time of four hours. One robot has fallen to the starting line. Another person tripped a human support runner before crashing into a fence and smashing it into metal debris.

During the race, the robot called Little Giant, the shortest competitor at 30 inches, paused as smoke came out of his head.

The course and race rules prevented conflicts or interference with 12,000 real runners at the event. The robot had to have a humanoid appearance and run upright. They had to race in fenced lanes. They also had to set out in a staggered era to reduce the likelihood of colliding with each other.

Just as human runners had to refill with water, the robot “competitors” were allowed to get new batteries during the race. The winner, according to one, required three battery changes Report.

Created by the Humanoid Robot Innovation Centre in Beijing, Tiangon Ultra “we managed to best their fellow androids because of their long legs and algorithms that can mimic the way the algorithm mimics a marathon.”
