A Mexican politician who was recently deported after spending time in a US federal prison is now behind a Mexican bar. The former governor of Tamaulipas is facing new charges related to his support for the drug cartel. The Mexican government spent years protecting politicians.
A Mexican judge supported the allegations made by prosecutors of the country’s Attorney General’s Office (FGR) this week, noting that Thomas Yarrington Luvalkaba was an ally or associate of the Gulf Cartel and the Los Zeta. The judge ordered Yarrington to be held custody on a crime against health charge to enable the crime. Health crime is a commonly used term in Mexico and refers to drug trafficking. The case is expected to be appealed while Yarrington awaits trial behind a bar in Mexico.
As reported by Breitbart Texas, last week the US government deported Yarrington after sentenced 108 months in the US for money laundering fees. Yarrington pleaded guilty to these charges on March 25, 2021. At that point, our prosecutors moved to dismiss more serious drug traffic conspiracy charges that accused him of working with the Gulf Cartel, Los Zetas and the Bertrand Leiba Cartel. protection.
As Breitbart Texas first reported in an exclusive investigation, Yarrington spent years living with police officers as bodyguards in Mexico and was listed as a fugitive by the US Department of Justice.
Breitbart Texas has exclusively published a series of photos showing Yarrington living a luxurious life in Europe and partying with models.
After Yarrington was arrested by an HSI agent, the Mexican government tried to trust the capture and first attempted to hand it over to Mexico as a way to protect him. This protection came when Mexico had another ruling party. The current ruling party is different.
Breitbart Texas reported only on the internal conflict between us and Mexican officials over the fate of drug politicians. Eventually, the Italian courts sided with the US, handing over Yarington to the HSI agent, who moved him to Texas.
Yarrington served as Governor of Tamaulipas from 1999 to 2005. During his tenure, he embezzled millions with government funds and protected drug cartels in exchange for large-scale cash bribes. According to prosecutors, he hid those bribery through the purchase of property and planes. He bought the property in Texas, and U.S. officials eventually investigated him.
