A male crew was found dead in his hotel bed after his colleague reported failing to work to return to the UK on Thursday. The sun reported.

Hotel staff found the crew dead in his room. According to standards.

The male colleague reportedly was too upset to fly after learning the news, and BA Flight 284 on April 17 was cancelled from San Francisco International Airport to Heathrow in London.

“The flight from San Francisco couldn’t move forward. The staff was absolutely absolute for the sudden loss of a friend,” the source told the Sun.

The crew checked into the hotel on Tuesday after a flight from Heathrow but were unable to compete in the return flight on Thursday.

The pilot, who had already arrived at the airport prior to the flight, returned to the hotel to support his colleagues.

The cancellation affected up to 850 passengers. The airline refused to provide an explanation to the travelers, but tried to obtain shocked passengers booked at the hotel.

“The Stewards are a popular member of the team and this came as a bolt from the blue,” the source added. “The harsh reality is that he might have been dead in his bed for a while.”

British Airways confirmed that the man is part of the crew and wrote, “Our thoughts and the views of Pathetic Dol are here to stay with the family and friends of our colleagues during this difficult time.”

Authorities did not share any other information regarding the cause of death or crew.
