Cornell University has been criticized for inviting “Vile Jew-Hater” singer and dancer Kehlani to perform on campus. The Ivy League facility defended the decision, saying that the school was just giving students what they wanted.
“Kelani is not just an artist with controversial views. She is a man who publicly praised violence against Jews and has consistently promoted dangerous and anti-Semitic rhetoric that threatens our community,” said Cornell student Amanda Silverstein. I said New York Post.
In particular, Kehlani has a music video that starts with “Long Live the Intifada.” This is understood in Arabic, in the Palestinian context, “shaking” and to mean civic uprising.
The singer also posted a map to social media that excluded the Israeli state, refusing to condemn Hamas for the October 7, 2023 terrorist attacks and the massacre of Israeli Jews.
“For a university that argues that it values inclusion and safety for all students, this decision is not just a tone of jarring. It is very marginalized,” said Silverstein, president of the school’s Chabad Centre and vice president of Cornell, a group of students in Israel.
“By inviting someone with such a deep and troubling anti-Semitism history, Cornell sends a message that Jewish safety and happiness are negotiable to make it a headline of one of our most well-known campus events,” the student added.
Cornell University reportedly defended the May 7 event featuring Kehlani, claiming that the school is giving students only what they want.
“The headliners will be selected by the student-run Gradient Day Planning Commission following student votes,” a Cornell spokesperson told The New York Post. “Kelani was chosen based on her popularity and her musical genre. She recently performed at Northeastern University without political expression or incident.”
A university spokesman further argued that “the personal view expressed by this artist is their own and does not represent the university.”
“However, artists must support Cornell’s anti-discrimination policy, which includes the prohibition of political expression as part of the concert. Failure to do so would constitute a breach of contract and result in a loss of payment,” a Cornell spokesperson added.
Last year, watchdog group Stopantisemitism named Kehlani “this week’s anti-Semite” in the X-Post on July 16th, declaring that the pop star is “seeking the eradication of Jews, defending Hamas and defending violence.”
“Kelani uses a platform of 20 million followers, more than the number of Jews on Earth, to incite hatred towards the world’s only Jewish nation,” said Liora Rez, founder of Stopantisemitism.
“She is openly calling for violent Jewish targeting, eradication of Zionists and codes for more than 95% of the world’s Jewish population,” Lez continued, adding, “Now Cornell is doubling the cozy Kelani of sleazy Jews as a headliner for the end of the year.”
“Black students were not expected to welcome KKK rock bands on campus. Asian students were not told, “Asian hatred – get over it.” So why are Jewish students treated as exceptions? ” asked the lesbian.
stopantisemitism accused Kelani of supporting terrorist regime Hamas, citing the singer’s “next 2 u.” Music Video It praised the Palestinian terrorist group by declaring “Long Live The Intifada” at the start of the video and introducing dancers who waving Palestinian flags and wearing kefiers.

Additionally, Kelani refused to condemn Hamas for the massacre of Israeli civilians that day, and instead “calls directly the destruction of Israel and its people,” Stopantisemitism said.
