Sarah Palin loses defamation lawsuit against New York Times over Gabby Giffords shooting accusation

Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin has passed away Honorary am loss lawsuit Against the New York Times after the outlet denounced her in a horrifying 2011 shooting that targeted Democrats.

Palin filed a lawsuit against the Times after publishing a 2017 editorial. They mistakenly linked political ads created by her PAC to several council districts under the crosshairs of guns, and were shot by a horrible mass at a public event in Gabby Giffords.

The crazy gunman was identified as Jared Lee Luffner, who was diagnosed with mental illness and was obsessed with Gifford, the then principal, long before political ads circulated.

The connection was questionable, and the times were soon attacked by critics online. Many of them were on the left and made corrections. Palin filed a lawsuit later that month.

The case was initially tossed by a Clinton-appointed judge in 2017, but was resurrected by the appeals court. The same judge dismissed the case in 2022, according to the judge.

The appeals court allowed Palin to take the Times to court for a third time, but on Tuesday the ju court agreed that high standards of maliciousness were not met.

The ju judges deliberated for only two hours before conducting the verdict.

Palin asked her supporters to continue fighting with her. statement On social media.

“We didn’t win federal court against the New York Times. But continue to fight for the integrity of the media. I will continue to ask the press to stop things,” she wrote.

“In the meantime… I’m a trembling full of perfect grandfathers, where I can get home to the five best kids that Mom can ever expect,” she added.

Giffords left Congress in 2012 and became a gun control advocate before undergoing years of rehabilitation after the injuries she suffered. Her husband, Mark Kelly, became a US Senator in Arizona.
