Professional golf can be a lonely sport.
This is a game that forces loneliness. Golf is about you, your decisions and your performance on the course. It is measured against others who compete under these same circumstances, but it is not accurate to see another wide receiver win a touchdown or basketball.
This is not to say that golf is an expert in playing it experience By yourself. The expression of something taking a village applies to many walks and experiences in life, but playing golf is certainly within that range.
Think about the breakdown of the world’s number one Nelly Corda and the teams Amy Rogers have recently made on the Golf Channel to help her work.. In it, Rogers highlighted how many ensembles there are to make Korda do his best.
By the time Nelly Corda concluded his media duties and signed a sign for young fans stuck on their way to meet the latest winner of the Chevron Championship, Darkness had already descended to the Woodlands, Texas.
Korda concluded historic golf, winning five consecutive events, matching Hall of Fame Nancy Lopez and Annika Sorenstam as the only woman to achieve that feat. Like tradition, in celebration of winning the first major of the season, Korda dived into the water next to the 18th green at the Carlton Woods club with her dedicated inner circle – swing coach Jamie MulliganCaddy Jason McDedeAgent Chris Mulhopt and athletic trainer Kim Boman.
“With a great team around me full of positivity and working hard, hard work always brings you somewhere,” Korda told the media on Sunday.
…
It’s part of a delicate balance that not only McDede, but the rest of Korda’s team are trying to maintain the world’s No. 1 daily management.
Maintaining the level of play that will keep you as the world’s top person in your sport is clearly not an easy job. So it makes sense to involve others who specialize in a particular field. The idea of teamwork makes sense in that respect.
But what seems to make Korda a little more unique here is her intentionality by highlighting her team and giving them a deadline. This is not always the case for professional athletes.
Think about what Coda had to say at Chevron on Tuesday. She aims to defend her 2024 title.
I think it definitely changes every year, but now I think there are two different aspects to it. That means all the little kids come out and urge them to pick up a game of golf and know that golf matches are heading in a great direction as they see all the little kids pick up a game.
The two are my team. I love them so much. And we grind it so that we all stick together, regardless of UPS, Downs, to be together.
Nelly Korda’s game has a lot of humility among world-class talent. Her team unity is certainly unique compared to her contemporaries, as she is one of the most fulfilling parts of everything she accomplishes.
Time tells us whether Korda can successfully defend the Chevron crown, but she appears to be in a solid position to be able to do so. What’s more, she appears to have the right mindset to do so.
It should be fun to watch.
