Available at Yuga Labs Submit A leave order in the US District Court for the Central District of California to seize crypto assets held by influencer Jeremy Cahen, also known online, also known as Pauly0x.
The assets spread across the four wallets include Bitcoin, Ethereum and Pepecoin, totaling nearly $400,000 as of October last year.
Yuga Labs sued Cahen and artist Ryder Ripps in July 2022, infringing the Yuga Labs trademark through the sale of Ryder Ripps’ boring Ape Yacht Club NFT collection.
Ripps launched a copycat project in May 2022 as a form of “parody” and protest, claiming that the boring APE NFT is characterized by hidden Nazis and racist images.
The court took Yuga’s side and awarded it. $1.5 million in loss October 2023. The following February, this totaled to nearly $9 million.
The final judgment entered on February 2, 2024 is now enforceable by March 3rd. Kahen does not list bonds and has not obtained an enforcement stay.
The company subsequently summoned Cahen accountants and lended to banks and crypto platforms such as Bank of America, Chase, Wells Fargo, Robinhood, Coinbase, Binance and Gemini.
“Yuga Labs is taking positive steps under California law, which has essentially taken positive steps each month since the court issued its final ruling to find and implement Cahen’s assets,” the company said in its latest filing.
“Even so, Kahen mocked this court’s final ruling by refusing to pay a portion of the judgment or comply with post-judgment findings.”
According to court records, Cahen traveled $396,946 on Crypto and avoided the collection provided to Gemini. According to Yuga, the transfer occurred one day after collection was issued before Gemini freezes his account, demanding deliberate efforts to avoid asset attacks.
Gemini responded to the subpoena, providing trading records from Cahen’s account, indicating that he had transferred Crypto to two new wallets.
Cahen argues that despite the lack of formal stay, he is not obligated to comply with the discovery request while his appeal is pending. Cahen, who promoted various meme coins and accused of being a scammer, branded “The Most Censored Man in X” following the suspension of his account last year.
Puerto Rican authorities confirmed in February that Cahen was being asked to assault the worsened. In February he was on the list of the top 10 most wanted in the island’s capital, San Juan. His current project, Dex, called Pond0x, is It’s called a scam By critics.
