The Blueshirt loyal person seems a little restless.
Otters have expressed dissatisfaction with social media following news that Rangers general manager Chris Drury has signed a multi-year contract extension and maintained his role. Especially after the season when the Rangers missed the postseason with a 39-36-7 record.
“Are there any happy Ranger fans who are staying with Chris Drury extended? Please speak up now.” One person wrote on x.
“Did you have to eff me with a joke?! Chris Drury should be fired.” The second one rang.
“When parody comes to real life, I don’t trust Chris Drury to manage Starbucks, but here we are f-kin’.” Another fan posted it.
“Cool Cool Cool. What happens if you jump off the roof for a moment? Will Chris Drury be held responsible in some way and be fired?” Someone else posted it.
Although fans may not seem very enthusiastic, Drury hosted a campaign that won the President’s trophy during the 2023-24 season.
The Blues Shirts moved to the playoffs in three seasons of Drury’s four seasons after replacing John Davidson and Jeff Gorton as general manager in 2021 with Jeff Gorton as general manager.
“We are delighted that Chris will continue to lead the Rangers’ hockey business in his role as president and general manager,” Rangers owner James Dolan said in a statement. “During his tenure, Chris has demonstrated a passion for ranger, a relentless work ethic and outstanding excellence. We are all disappointed that this past season has happened, but I am confident in my ability to make this organization a success.”

In a statement released as part of the announcement, Drury said he was “honored” for him to sign the extension and “looks forward to continuing this offseason to achieve our goals in the coming years.”
