Washington:
President Donald Trump announced Thursday that he will sit for an interview with reporters discovered by major security after he was accidentally added to a group chat in which US officials shared secret military strike plans.
Atlantic magazine editor Jeffrey Goldberg was driven to global fame and was heavily attacked by Trump and other cabinet officials after releasing details of the delicate exchange of signal apps during the Yemeni rebellion strikes.
Trump mentioned in a social media post that accused Goldberg of being “the person responsible for many fictional stories about me,” when he announced the so-called “signal gate” scandal when he announced the interview.
“I’m doing this interview out of curiosity and as a competition from me, to see if the Atlantic could be “truth,” Trump said.
Goldberg’s stunning inclusion in the Yemen Strikeschat sent shockwaves across national security facilities and around the world, calling for the resignation of former Fox News host, Defense Secretary Pete Hegses.
A military veteran, but with no previous national security experience, Hegus has revealed the era of Iran-backed Hatis strikes and the types of aircraft, missiles and drones used before the attack actually occurs.
Democrats argued that the lives of U.S. service members could have been at risk due to violations, and the column raised serious questions about the dangers of potential intelligence.
Trump has so far been standing in chat with Heggs and other top officials, dismissing the scandal as a “witch hunt” and claiming that his Pentagon chief is doing a “great job.”
Goldberg, who interviewed two Atlantic colleagues on Thursday with two Atlantic colleagues, portrayed the president’s rage in 2020, according to Trump’s Post.
Trump angeredly denied the allegations on multiple occasions, but at the time of his remarks, his chief of staff, John Kelly, confirmed Goldberg’s report.
