Illegal aliens may soon get ‘expedited’ pardons and commutations in Washington state, perhaps leapfrogging US citizens

An illegal alien criminally convicted in Washington could soon get a “quick examination” of pardons or commute applications from the governor, thanks to a bill passed only by Democrats.

In the past few weeks, both the Washington State Capitol and the Senate have passed. HB 1131ready to send it to Bob Ferguson’s desk of the Democratic government. The bill addresses a number of issues related to pardoning and tolerance, but sends people at risk of deportation to the head of the case review line.

“If the petitioner in his petition indicates in his petition the urgent need for an amnesty or commutive, including but not limited to a tax order or deportation procedure, the board shall consider a prompt review of the application.”

The bill has sailed house50-46, only seven Democrats voted against it, and voted against it. Democrats also carried the bill through the Senate, with 28 votes and 19 Republicans opposed.

“If they pay membership fees to society, they should not be deported.”

This bill is especially outrageous as it gives illegal aliens and other non-citizens who commit crimes in the United States better access to Washington Clemancy and the Amnesty Committee, which have limited availability. Currently, the board consists of five unpaid members who can only undertake about 30 cases a year. Washington State Standards.

Under this bill, imprisoned US citizens seeking pardons and commutes will clearly need to take the backseat.

“What our ancestors imagined is that when it comes to justice, I don’t think that one group is moving above the other,” state Sen. Leonard Christian, stated. “Everyone in this state deserves equal justice in the same time.”

Republican Rep. Jim Walsh, chairman of the Washington GOP, said After Millennials HB 1131 has treated “as if the criminal was a victim,” and has since dealt with the cover of justice that has become “the fashion in the recent “progressive” circles.”

A statement from the liberals about HB 1131 appears to embrace him.

“If they paid membership fees to society, they should not be deported,” argued Sen. Bob Hasegawa (D-Sheetl), who proposed a similar measure in the Senate.

Jenny Pascarella, legal director for the Seattle Clemancy Project, implies that all immigration cases, particularly those related to deportation, are “very time sensitive” and therefore non-citizens deserve more rapid consideration.

“They can’t wait two years for the hearing,” she insisted. “They need them, they need peace of mind right away.”

HB 1131 “Damage the public safety of Washington” and “put law-abiding people at risk.”

Pasquarella made the wild suggestion that non-citizens often commit casualty-free crimes that are not so “serious.”

“There are a lot of crimes right now [deportation] “If the victim is not involved, most people don’t think it’s serious, but they’re impose this truly dramatic outcome,” she said.

The standards indicated that such crimes were related to “drugs, theft, robbery.” about 87,000 Americans He died from a drug overdose between October 2023 and September 2024.

It’s worth noting 90% and 95% of criminal cases In the United States, it is resolved through plea bargains. This often leads to defendants pleading guilty to lesser charges. In other words, criminals may be held responsible for other, more serious crimes that indirectly involve the victim, but prosecutors allow them to accept responsibility for less crimes in order to ensure their beliefs.

State Rep. Walsh understands the issue well and claims that HB 1131 “harms the public safety of Washington” and “puts law-abiding people at risk.”

HB 1131 will expand the review board to 10 members and will at least compensate for travel expenses related to board activities.

Blaze News reached out to Governor Ferguson and asked if he intended to sign the bill, but did not receive a response.
