The judge ruled Thursday that prosecutors could seek the death penalty against Brian Coberger if prosecutors were convicted of the 2022 murders of four University of Idaho students.
Judge Stephen Hippler’s decision comes after Coberger’s lawyer asked the court to ban the sentence to diagnose autism.

The 30-year-old is indicted for the deaths of students Ethan Chapin, Zana Carnodor, Madison Morgen and Kayley Goncalves who were stabbed and stabbed at an off-campus home in Moscow, Idaho on November 13, 2022.
